Speaking about making money online and jobs in Kenya, two common self-help sayings seem contradictory if you think about them. The first says, if you keep doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, then that is a clear show of madness.
The second says persistence is the key to success. Many have given up when they are a heartbeat away from the success they sought. So keep working at it until you succeed, the teachers tell us.
This means you may either be considered mad for keeping on your track, or you may actually succeed. When do you know when to quit and when to keep going? The answer, simple as it may sound is, when all the signs keep showing you the same thing — this path you are taking is not going anywhere - drop it. If there are some bumps of good, but just not at the level you want them to be, keep going.
At a recent talk, I shared with the attendants that the government of Kenya has its current PUBLIC statistics as Kenya has 12 million jobless. Another research done by a department in the same government reports that our best job creation year was 2011 where all together, the private, public, and SME sectors created 503,500 jobs. On average, we create a little under 500,000 jobs annually as a nation. Meanwhile, we also generate just about the same number of graduates annually, 500,000.
The short of it is that at this rate it will take 24 years for all the jobless today to be absorbed into the formal job sector. That is assuming, not another graduate is added to the numbers.
Or, in other words, if you are jobless and a graduate, the chances of the government solving your problem of joblessness is almost nil or ZERO! To keep expecting a job through the government as a Kenyan graduate is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. The facts point to one thing — that route is NOT working.
Meanwhile, there are hundreds, in fact tens of thousands of jobs created online every single day. When will you take a decision? Why are you not making money online in Kenya?
There are jobs in Kenya and work opportunities available online! Look at the facts and realize that YOU not the government has to do something different to change your lot. You have to go out and find your ship rather than wait for the government to create a job for you.
