Seven Great Money Ideas to Ponder Over

In this second (one) third of the year, we will concern ourselves with blogging and affiliate income. But first, let us speak on a few general matters concerning money. I have heard many people say money isn't everything. One of the best derivatives of that idea I have ever heard is ‘it is much better to cry in a Mercedes Benz than on a bicycle’. Well, there are indeed different strokes for different folk.

As you plan the next segment of the year, here are great money ideas adopted from the net. They are great money ideas to ponder over as you work to build your financial future in the coming months.

1.    Spend less than you earn.

At all times, make it your purpose to spend less money than you make.

2.    Avoid debt like the plague.

The status symbol in the new economy isn't fancy cars and big houses. It's being able to say you are DEBT FREE.

Set Compelling Goals to Get to a New Level of Achievement This Year

I have never been much of the goal setting type of person. I made my life achievements step by step working with whatever goodies life brought my way per time. Having led a pretty joyous childhood, I never got to be one of those ‘driven’ people. I prefer to smell the flowers, and watch the birds as I go along. The good side of that lifestyle, among other benefits, is I have not dragged the years along with me, I have remained un-angered by the world, and remain young at heart and in appearance as an added advantage.

However, last year was a powerful eye opener for me. The older I become, the more opportunities coming my way. And the more the opportunities, I found it became easier to engage in everyone else’s targets and forget the ones that are important to me. I realized that I have to consciously know the most important things in my life so that I can keep to those while steering clear of the distractions.

Whenever There is a World Crisis Someone Makes a Fortune

It is now official, all the drama in the Middle East is going to affect us all – right into our homes. If you do not believe me, read it in this article in the Standard. It is no longer those battles that you watch indolently seated lazily on your sofas and wonder why people are so dumb as to keep fighting. No! The numerous little uprisings in the Middle East and in North Africa, and generally in the oil rich Arab world are pouring out from behind the TV screen and holding a eerie party right in your sitting room.

For the young jobless youth, and especially one in Kenya, this can well start to spell the beginning of the end. The high cost of living, the hiked transport fares, the even higher food costs all together result in an increasingly emptier pocket, or do they?

As I may have said on this blog or elsewhere, I also have a full time day job in the NGO sector. One of the most interesting things in that world is the way we sing the carols. We do not sing at Christmas, we sing when Haiti is under the rubble. No, it is not because we are pleased when there is disaster – indeed, you will find that the most compassionate humans are likely to find a place to manifest in the NGO world. The reason the catastrophes bring the carols in a backward sort of way to our doorstep is this; when better can you truly meet a human need at its most glaring than when there is a disaster?

There are many people out there that wallow with the rest of the world when there is a crisis to moan oh how terrible God is to us to allow all this to befall us. However, there is another breed of human being that says, how can I offer a solution to humankind in the midst of all this turmoil. That is the soul that will flourish in the hard economic times that are soon to be more here than we care to discuss. If I were a young person, and I were jobless, I would start to think long and hard on this one question:

What can I do today to make the lives of those that are in distress over the lousy economy just a little more comfortable? In that question lies your flourishing when all else looks dire in the undeniable hard economic times ahead.

How effective is your personal job search plan?

There are common ways to find jobs in Kenya that people recommend to new entrants into the Kenyan jobs market. Logically thinking, if there are 2million new entrants into the jobs market in Kenya, then it follows that there are an additional 2million new entrants into your commonly recommended strategy. Right?
I believe that using a common route to find a scarce commodity is not clever. Simply said, if you are working your job search along commonly used search methods, then that is not clever.
a There is an easy way to get the best job offer available to you.

When you win, 'we' win, yet when you win, its always 'you' who wins!

Cross Country Olympics in Poland ended this weekend, with Kenya coming out of the event with a staggering eight gold medals.
It is the best we have ever done as a nation, and the last time Kenya shone at the Cross country event is in 1984! Wow! Even our President, good fatherly ‘oga’ Mwai Kibaki, could not resist a smile. Our national anthem played throughout the event.
Ah! My eyes were wet with tears as I watched the events – on TV no less. They all made me so proud!
Yet it really isn’t Kenya that won, it is eight individuals who won, and those individuals happened to come from Kenya.
That is the story of your life. You do not win as a state, you win as an individual that happens to represent the nation in whatsoever it is you do.
What takes a while for most of us to understand, is that people do not win on the outside first, then start to feel like winners inside thereafter.

Identifying Your Opportunities

So what is this thing about focusing on what we desire to get what we want?
It is the law of life. It is how you cooperate with the Creator – and everyone has access to their Creator.
It’s funny to even try and logically imagine that a responsible all-knowing and intelligent God would have you living a life where you need another creature equal to yourself in power and knowledge serve as your connect.
The system to connect to your creator is there within you all the time. It is not something you learn in an institution or from books – it is within you.
